The interactions between tectonic plates can cause earthquakes. Plate tectonics is the theory we use to explain how lithospheric or tectonic plates move. For example, two tectonic plates will build up stress (pressure) when their movement is impeded the eventual release of this stress causes an earthquake. There is more material available via Yahoo search. The second source link will help you get a good idea of the plate boundaries.

As tectonic plates move past each other they can catch on each other. The plates are still trying to move, but they are caught, so energy builds up until the rocks at or near the boundary fail, allowing a rapidly shift of the positions of the plates and a release of the pent-up energy. This release of energy creates seismic waves that are associated with the shaking of an earthquake.

the realising of energy from under the earth causes earthquakes. eart has many parts, the crust, litosphere and the core.Tectonic plates are floating in the lithosphere and the continents are made of these plates there are some junctions (like the triple0 ones in the areas where the platse meet each other. on plate boundries the realising of the stress causes earthquake. If the epicenter of an earthquake is on the moho line the earthquake will be a mega one. the center of an earthquake is called epicenter and we are measuring the earthquakes by richter.

in view it is the way it truly works. Plate tectonics is the learn of ways the earth's crust, that are divided into countless products, strikes. As they pass, they the two slide against, collide into or pass removed from one yet another. by doing so, friction between the two specific plates in point out motives the crust to soften into magma to form magnificient landforms. As greater magma start to correctly up, tension builds up and flows out from strains of weaknesses to create volcanoes in time to return. Earthquakes ensue while the friction equipped up between 2 plates is suddenly realeased and tremors are produced as the two plates objective to attain stability. P and S waves made out of an earthquake are truly longitudunal waves and transverse waves vacationing throughout the time of the earth's crust. those waves stick to the physics equation for waves i.e. velocity = frequency x wavelength. the beginning up time and end time could be gained and the area calculated can tell how some distance away an earth quake occured. whether in useful situations, we don't could ensure how some distance away an earthquake occured simply by fact of technologies. we are able to ensure the source of the earthquake and then map the area utilising positioning kit and a map.
