60 * 24 = 1440 minutes in a day

The Earth rotates 360 degrees in a day (1440 minutes)

360/1440 = .25

.25 degrees.

That's an easy one

IF the earth moves 360 degrees in 1 24hr period

then 360 degrees/(24 * 60 min/hr) =

60/24 = 2.5 degrees per minute

The Earth rotates 15 degrees per hour on its axis. Sixty minutes in an hour. Divide 60/15 = 4 degrees a minute.

MY BAD... I was wrong. It is .25!

Found it worked out on this site below!

The earth rotates on its axis 0.25 degrees per minute.

I guess you mean the rotation of the earth, and no it's traslation...

That is 360° for 1 day, the day has 1440 min. so that is 360/1440=0.25° per minute, if you want it sexagesimal it is 15 minutes per minute...

Are you asking about rotation around its axis or in its orbit around the sun?

365.25day/yr*24hr/day*60min/hr = 525960 min/yr

360degrees/525960 = 6.844x10^-4 degrees
