why do people say "Gods GREEN earth" when it is actually Blue?

Majority of the earth is covered in Water so it cant all be green, it is in fact BLUE. so shoulnt they say "God's Blue earth"?

Water technically "blue", it's just the way the water reflects the sunlight that makes it look blue. And "green" is just a term. doesn't mean literally green earth.

i only know someone of blue eys... thats the onlly blue eye person i know... i havent seen a person with green eyes, but ive heard theyr beutiful.... i like better gray eyes,,,, the color of a stormy clouds .... where the iris is encircled with green/brown..... have u seen such thing?
