"ive been noticing theres more earthquakes more heavy rain, more floodings etc" - well, no. The media is very quick to report on any event no matter how normal or ordinary it is.

The pile of trash online about the end of the world is truly amazing, considering that none of it has any scientific evidence to support it.

You will find lots of websites and Youtube videos about any hoax or myth or trash if you search for it - doesn't make it true.

The people that believe this hoax are gullible or uneducated. And the scam artists that prey on these people are having a very profitable year selling garbage books and videos. Once 12/21 is past, they will always come up with a new date.

Intelligent people figured out a long time ago it was a hoax.

There have been THOUSANDS of predictions of the end of the world...

Have ANY come to pass? I hope the answer would be obvious.

There is NO TRUTH TO ANY CURRENT PREDICTIONS. NONE. Period. Full Stop.

ALL of the disasters that people have said will, could, might, may, would happen on 12/21/12 are LIES, HOAXES, FRAUDS. Did it ever occur to you that it was odd that EVERY SINGLE DISASTER was going to occur on the same day? <>? How could that ever happen - how many times can the earth be destroyed in one day?

As soon as that date passes, you can be certain that new predictions will be forthcoming, and the failure of the present ones will be blamed on faulty interpretation of some ancient writings. But, THIS TIME, those people are positive they have it right.

Do you remember Harold Camping and his "rapture" predictions from last year. Many years ago, he first said the rapture would occur in September, 1994, then later, he said, for sure, it would be May of 2011.

On May 23, 2011, after - surprise - nothing happened, he claimed that it had been a "spiritual" day of judgement, and that the "real" rapture would happen in October, 2011.

Guess what? That did not happen either. He did later admit that he had "no idea" when the end of the world would occur.

In June 2011, he suffered a stroke and has been off the air ever since.

I think it is Karma, if nothing else.

The world isn't going to end at the completion of December 2012. The Mayan calendar ends then. This just manner that each one calendars and time portions will cease to operate at that time. Yep. That calendar on the wall won't work to any extent further. It is not going to exhibit January 2013 or any time past December 31st, 2012. Your watch will stop at the moment as good. Lifestyles will continue though. You just will by no means be able to be late for school... And lecturers will not be equipped to tell you WHEN your experiment will be. Of direction, you is not going to comprehend when the milk will hit it is expiration date. And the announcing, Thank God it is Friday will not mean something any further both. So life is not going to continue more often than not... But it is going to continue. End of line

The outrageous claims traveling through cyberspace, being shown on TV and in the movies are not based on any science at all. There is even a fake NASA news release out there.

Here are some common beliefs and their

answers. These answers were made by scientists from NASA and have been taken directly from NASA.gov with no edits or changes on my part.

•Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.

•Answer (A): Nothing bad will happen to the Earth in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

•Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in 2012?

•A: The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012. Then these two fables were linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 -- hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

•Q: Does the Mayan calendar end in December 2012?

•A: Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then -- just as your calendar begins again on January 1 -- another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

•Q: Could phenomena occur where planets align in a way that impacts Earth?

•A: There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades, Earth will not cross the galactic plane in 2012, and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.

•Q: Is there a planet or brown dwarf called Nibiru or Planet X or Eris that is approaching the Earth and threatening our planet with widespread destruction?

•A: Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax. There is no factual basis for these claims. If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles.

•Q: What is the polar shift theory? Is it true that the earth’s crust does a 180-degree rotation around the core in a matter of days if not hours?

•A: A reversal in the rotation of Earth is impossible. There are slow movements of the continents (for example Antarctica was near the equator hundreds of millions of years ago), but that is irrelevant to claims of reversal of the rotational poles. However, many of the disaster websites pull a bait-and-switch to fool people. They claim a relationship between the rotation and the magnetic polarity of Earth, which does change irregularly, with a magnetic reversal taking place every 400,000 years on average. As far as we know, such a magnetic reversal doesn’t cause any harm to life on Earth. A magnetic reversal is very unlikely to happen in the next few millennia, anyway.

•.Q: Is the Earth in danger of being hit by a meteor in 2012?

•A: The Earth has always been subject to impacts by comets and asteroids, although big hits are very rare. The last big impact was 65 million years ago, and that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Today, NASA astronomers are carrying out a survey called the Spaceguard Survey to find any large near-Earth asteroids long before they hit. We have already determined that there are no threatening asteroids as large as the one that killed the dinosaurs. All this work is done openly with the discoveries posted every day on the NASA NEO Program Office website, so you can see for yourself that nothing is predicted to hit in 2012.

•Q: How do NASA scientists feel about claims of pending doomsday?

•A: For any claims of disaster or dramatic changes in 2012, where is the science? Where is the evidence? There is none, and for all the fictional assertions, whether they are made in books, movies, documentaries or over the Internet, we cannot change that simple fact. There is no credible evidence for any of the assertions made in support of unusual events taking place in December 2012.

•Q: Is there a danger from giant solar storms predicted for 2012?

•A: Solar activity has a regular cycle, with peaks approximately every 11 years. Near these activity peaks, solar flares can cause some interruption of satellite communications, although engineers are learning how to build electronics that are protec

i don't understand why people comment on questions with something immature like calling someone a wuss. simply don't effin comment... anyways, the end may be near considering how bad the world is today, and yes signs from revelations are occurring BUT in my opinion it will be much worse towards the end.Not only that but im a true believer in God and Jesus christ and if the world were to end this year that would be calling god a liar considering he clearly states in the bible that no man knows what day or time the world will end, not even his son (Jesus). It will happen when its least expected.

Hello :) I understand! I was pretty scared too about this for a while, there's a lot of interesting events that all lead up to 2012-2013ish like, we're even supposed to have a massive solar max according to NASA during this time, and it's possible our North/South poles will flip. People misconstrue a lot of this info though and they teach that our entire surface of the earth will flip but this is unscientific and false, just the magnetic poles will flip according to NASA.

Anyways, don't worry about it. Seriously, we all only live at a maximum of like 120 years and most of us don't even see 120, we usually die around 50-60 years old I think so, even if the "end of the world" was coming, so what? The end of our lives are coming with each passing moment getting closer, it's nothing to fear, only something to accept and embrace because for the time being we can't change it. For the time being we are mortal and have to just deal with it haha.

There is an immortal jellyfish though, called the Turritopsis nutricula. It grows up to an adult, then grows DOWN to a baby again, it does this indefinitely as long as it has nutrients and nothing kills it. There's also a flat worm like this, it's thought to be due to the telomeres and how they work. If scientists could prevent human telomeres from shortening with time, they believe they could make us biologically immortal. If someone stabs you or shoots you of course this would kill you but biologically immortal just means you won't die of old age, you won't get wrinkly etc.

I think it's all very fascinating but also very off topic so I apologize.

You are not alone in your worries and concerns. This is a very real global phenomena and not without some justification. But DO NOT WORRY. Let me expalin why, and it is important that you read my full answer.

There is a lot of talk of planetery collisions, and Mayan Apocalypses, forget about all of that, it is all rubbish.

However, there are events happening in the world that are very real and worthy of utmost concern.

There is much talk of global economic collapse. Is this justified? It most certainly is. The rich nations of the world have been recklessly 'living off the credit card' for many years now. And as an individual that lives off the credit card eventually runs into serious heaps of trouble, so the world is now. We can see exactly that problem happening in nations such as Greece, Spain, and Argentina. And the only difference is that they are further up the debt road than the rest of us who are on exactly the same course. Should we worry? Absolutely not. We should rejoice. Because money has always been just an illusion. Money doesn't grow crops in the fields. Money doesn't work the land or harvest the crop. And money doesn't bake the bread. People do that. And they indeed did that long before anyone invented money. People would be rewarded for their personal input, or labor. For instance, if you help the farmer harvest his wheat, you will be paid by the farmer in ten loaves of bread, which is part of the 100 loaves of bread the baker gave the farmer in exchange for his 50 pounds of wheat. Each person will be paid according to his deeds, regardless of where you live, your colour, who your parents are, or what your personal beliefs are. This is the beginnings of global social equality, Regardless of whether you live in the US or Africa, or China! If the African tribesman works just as hard as the Anerican construction worker, or Chinese factory worker, they will both recieve equal rewards.

There is an extremely serious situation developing in the Middle East regarding Iran. The naval fleets of 25 countries are muscling up on the coast of Iran, whilst China and Russia are warning that any military action against Iran would be an act of war they would become involved in. Many analysts are predicting that this is a scenario which will eventually lead to the unthinkable. Global nuclear war.

Are they wrong or exagerating? No they are absolutely correct. Should we be worried. No ! We should rejoice. Because once the nuclear bombs start flying, then I tell you as sure as anything that there will be a global uprising, and PEOPLE, ordinary people, will tear down their government buildings and throw there politicians and leaders away rather than let them take us down that road. Ordinary people will even go as far as to confront military armies rather than surrender to global apocalypse. Even now, we can see that starting to happen in many nations around the world. Look at the protests and even riots that are happening in every nation on the planet. Mexico, Canada, Spain, Italy, USA, Greece, Germany, India, etc etc etc

And just as an individual experiences a new take on life after a near death experience. So will the people of the world, and will herald in a new era of peace and unity, not based any more on division, hate, and suspicion. But on love, not love of nation, or colour, or creed, but a genuine love of all of humanity. But the dreadful events must happen for this to come to fruition. We must have stood at the edge of oblivion before humanity see's the light!

And to reinforce my message here. It is irrelevant what religion, nationality, colour, gender, or age you are. The prophecies are all the same. Not one of the ancient prophecies speaks of the end of the world. Not one. In Christian prophecy it is the meek (enduring injury with patience and without resentment) that will inherit the world. Mayan prophecies predict the dawning of a new age. Islamic prophecies predict a new age of peace and prosperity for all of mankind. The bible speaks of 'wars and rumours of wars' at the end times. But in speaking of the 'end times' is not referring to the end of the world, but to the end of the rule of Satan.

So do not worry, because yes their are terrible times ahead. Times of dramatic change and turmoil. But these things must take place. But at the other end, something truly wonderful is going to happen.

It is not MOST LIKELY a hoax IT IS a HOAX or a SCAM.

In some cases it is the rantings of a religious nut case.

It's not going to happen. It's only because the Mayans stopped writing their calendar on that date. People are just freaking out. In my opinion, it's total crap. On the day of the supposed "end of the world", I'm gonna survive, then later, pop in the movie 2012, and just laugh.

The operative word in your post is "noticing". There are NOT more earthquakes, floods, etc. You just pay attention and notice reports about them more because you're a scared little wuss.

Please stop worrying!

Nobody but NOBODY can predict the future (and let's face it, people that lived thousands of years ago have much less idea of what is going on today than we have).

Plan your life and look forward to it! Anybody can die any day - but this 2012 thing is ridiculously not true.
