Your question touches a number of different scientific careers.
I'm a geologist and work in the environmental consulting field. My main focus is identifying and remediating contaminated groundwater (so yes, very environmental). The specific sciences involved in what I do are: Petrology, Hydrogeology, Geophsyics, GIS, Engineering Geology.
I have a friend who is a biologist, but also very good with computers. She works fo NOAA (national oceanic and atmospheric association) mapping terrain boundaries for endangered/threatened species of animals and plants using GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
Hopefully that will help.

Environmental science is the branch that deals with many different parts such as atmospheric science, ocean science, volcanoes etc etc.
You can specialise and do just geology (science of rocks) or climatology (science of climate and climate change) for instance.
Ecology is a branch of biology that deals with animals and plants etc. Some universities will let you do environmental science and ecology. Try and decide what interests you the most, but if you can't decide then try and pick something that lets you do a broad range of things.

Lots of science is involved in this. Try eniveomental science. In the UK the biggest university working on this in UEA in Norwich (they are world leaders). If this is something you want to do, contact them, they will be happy to help.
